Typically you'll move your pawns first and later strategically use other more capable pieces to take out your opponent. The goal is to get your opponent broken down gradually so you can proceed to get them in "check." Form there you want to proceed to get them in "check-mate" so you can chalk up the win. There is no time limit in this game and since Chess is a brain game, you may do better if you take a little more time between moves.
